Collateral Checkers

Collateral Checkers is a 2 player abstract strategy game played on a 5×5 grid.

The game is in a way similar to Checkers, except it also lets you capture your own pieces in order to get ahead.

The aim of the game is to eliminate the opponent before you yourself get eliminated.

Game set up and ready to play

This game has been described by some play-testers as “a knife-fight in a phonebooth” due to being played on such a small board.

Materials

To play this game, you need

  • A 5×5 game board. The one from Onitama or Tak will suffice.
  • 9 Black checkers
  • 9 White checkers

Although any two colours will work as long as they differ.
